920-922 A. D. Narasimha deva son of Nitimarga of the
Ganga dynasty flourished, who was renowned for his skill in politics, elephant-training and archery. He was known as "Satyavákya" 1 for his piety and as "Vira-vedanga" for his valour.

Rachamalla III, was the younger brother of Narasimhadeva, who sat on the Ganga throne after him. He was called "Satyavakya"—"Nacheya-ganga"-and "Nitimårga" for his piety, valour and justice respectively. While he was at war with the Raştrakațas and the Chalukyas, his younger brother Buțuga revolted against him and usurped throne.
