Temporary Exhibitions
Currently the temporary hall is holding an exhibition on Technology and Craft of Indus civilization. This exhibition deals with some aspects of craft production and technology in the Harappan phase of the Indus valley Tradition (2600-1900 BC). We have highlighted recent discoveries about Harappan tcclinology that serves to distinguish this society from others.
Antecedent noteworthy cxhibitions organised by our museum were, 1965 - "Archacological finds of Nagara-An carly Historic Port of Gujarat" 1965 - "Archaeological finds from Devnimori'' 1967 - "Exhibition on Tripuri, Jokha and Dhatva'' 1970 - "Champaner through the Ages 1982 - "Progressive land use in Gujarat state" 1983 - "Zinc Metallurgy of Ancient India." This exhibition was later sclected for
Festival of India, USA 1983. 1984 - "Shell Industry of the Indus Valley Civilzation." 1986 - "Agricultural Communities of Gujarat" 1989 - "French Photographic Exhibition on Evolution of Man" 1990 - "Stone bead Industry of Khambhat : An Ethno-Archaeological Perspective" 1996 - "Kings and Coins : Exhibition on coins of Gujarat.” 1999 - "Past and Present - Stone bcad making in India" - A temporary exhibition

Museum publication is playing a vital role in popularising the museum and providing information of muscum collection and activities as well. The Department of Archaeology and Ancient History had regular publications such as its various, cxcavation reports, monographs and books. The muscum had only one independent publication till date. This was a lcaflct published in 1989 to supplement the temporary cxhibition entitled, "Bead manufacturing in Khambhat". The museum is targeted a progressive plan of publishing picture post cards of masterpieces of its collection and a catalogue for the museum by the end of this academic year.
