________________ Shri Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra www.kobatirth.org Acharya Shri Kailassagarsuri Gyanmandir Numismatic Museum Dilip Rajgoi University of Mumbai is setting up "Dinesh Mody Numismatic Muscum" on a exclusive plot of land of 10,000 sq. ft. with built up area of about 15,000 sq. ft. i its Kalina Campus at Kalina, Mumbai. The building in question is almost completo and it is hoped that the Museum will throw its doors open to public sometime in th second half of 2002. On display in the Muscum will be exclusive collection of approximately 15,000 20,000 rare coins not only of India but also from all over the world from 3000 B till today. Most of the coins are of gold and silver and cach of them is different tha the other. More than 200 countries will be represented in the Muscum. Besides thc coin old currency notes, all types of medals, seals, moulds, dies, stamp papers and shar certificates will be also on display. Along with the said Muscum, an institute for numismatic and archacologici studies is also proposed to be set up leading to post graduate degree of M.A. and Ph.[ There will be facility both for domestic and overseas research scholars. Lectures b numismatists will be regularly arranged and so also the cxhibitions and scminars from time to time. There will be special programmes for new collectors as well as for colleg and school students. Special care will be taken for extending guidance in every asper of this field like promotion and development of numismatic interest, so as to preserv the rich heritage of India. Special attention will be paid to various unexplored an unknown arcas of numismatics. Similarly leading institutions from forcign countric will be invited to promote joint project in this field. Latest clcctronic media and computerized gadgets will be installed and specii care will be taken designing the display material so as to hold the absorbing interes of a common man so that it will become one of the visiting spots of the city tour Mumbai. The Museum also has a good publication plan. In the Series, the first is bein released. It is "Collector's Guide to Mughal Coins" by Dilip Rajgor.
