The promotors are also willing to give special facilities for rescarch work in jain manuscripts if the requisite funds are entrusted to their care. Poona being a centre of learning the institute is expected to flourish well and will prove to be a very fit organisation for the furtherence of jain literature through the main channels i e. study, printing and publishing. Such an advantage it would be difficult for the jain community to get from any other institution A large number of learned scholars who had devoted all their lives for the cause of oriental study will be permanently staying close by the institute and render every kind of assistance to the researches it will thus be immensely interesting many now jain scholars in jain learning, which will be studied critically to the advantage of human knowledge. It is most desirable that one of the side wings of the institute inay be constructed by some jain donor and the name be imortalised. The money required now is only Rs. 50,000/- half for the building and half for the maintenance fund which can be easily contributed even by a single merchant prince of the jain community. If he wishes to commemorate the name of his ancestor but if that be not possible, it is hoped, the money will soon he collected by subscriptions and the opportunity taken full advantage of by jain gentlemen. The income derived from the publications wil go to the maintenance fund. I appeal my brethren to extend
