5. This is the printed edition of the Jñātadharmakathā with the commentary, published by the Agamodaya Samiti in V.S. 1975. We have utilised this printed edition. We have mostly followed the sūtra Nos. given in this edition in order that readers may find it easy to consult the commentary. • In the manuscripts, we find very rarely the missing words added afterwards in the margin. Again, we find that some one has given corrected readings in place of the readings originally written. At such places the readings originally written are mostly found cogent. To convey this we have compounded L or with those signs given to the manuscripts. To illustrate,
4. means originally written reading in the manuscript, while # means the corrected reading written afterwards by someone in the manuscript. The same method is followed with regard to other manuscripts also.
37c. sign stands for Ac. Abhayadevasūri's Tikā on the Jñātādharmakathā. Breto sign stands for the same Tikà contained in the 9 manuscript.
etc. sign stands for the same Țikā contained in the J 9 manuscript. STCIT. sign indicates a variant noted by Ac. Abhayadevasūri in his rikā.
