(Colebrooke, Misc. Essays, Vol. II. p. 295, gives the date - "Samvat 1229, Jyöshtha badi 3d, Wednesday." If this were correct, the corresponding date, for southern V. 1229 expired, půrniminta, would be Wednesday, 2 May, A.D. 1173, when the third tithi of the dark half ended 6 h. 35 m. after mean sunrise).

In southern V. 1315 expired Chaitre was intercalary; for the solar Chaitra lasted from 23 February, 10 h. 36 m., to 25 March, 18 h. 44 m., A.D. 1259, and there were new-moons on 23 February, 17 h. 29 m., and on 25 March, 11 h. 49 m. after mean sunrise. The 4th of the dark half of the first Chaitra was, -
