A compound may be further joined with an other compound, & noun or an adjective. eg पंचिदियजीवा ( पंचिंदिय adj. comp. +जीव ) 'souls having five sense-organs', amagù ( m noun com.+

Suffixes.

Syntax.
In prose the words are arranged much in the same order in Hindi, Punjabi or Gujrati eg. से णं नरगाश्रो उवट्टित्ता सुपट्टपुरे नयरे îwarg qsarangg 'returning from hell, he will be born as an ox in the town of Supaitthapura', श्रहं पिवासिय पुरिसाणं श्रट्टा कूवाओ सयिल जलं * I draw cold water from the well for the sake of thirsty persons.'
In a verse, however, the words may be put in any order e. g. सुह मे एगग्गमणा, मग्गं जिणेहिं देसियं '0 yo ! Listen heedfully of me, the law preached by the Jinas.
