INTRODUCTION
is 39.7 x 12.6 cms. Muni Shri Punyavijayaji has fully utilised it. But to my mind the yo sign referring to this manuscript has been noted in Tamdulaveyaliyapainnaya alone. The twelve tracts contained in this manuscript are as follows: 1 Kusalānubardhiajjhayana, 2 Aurapaccakkhānam (16th tract in our edition), 3 Bhaktaparijna, 4 Samtharaga, 5 Tamdulaveyaliyam, 6 Camdāvejjhayam, 7 Devirdatthao, 8 Ganivijjā, 9 Mahāpaccakkhānam, 10 Viratthao, 11 Ajīvakappo and 12 Gacchāyāra.
TO This is the printed work entitled 'CatuhśaranādiMaranasamādhyantan Prakirnakadaśakam (Chāyāyutam)'. It is edited by Rev. Ācārya Sāgarānandasūriśvaraji and published by the Āgamodaya Samiti, Surat, in 1927 A.D. It contains ten Prakīinakasūtras; they are as follows: 1 Causarana (Kusalānubamdhiajjhayanaṁ), 2 Aurapaccakkhānam, 3 Mahāpaccakkhānapainnayam, # Bhattaparinnā, 5 Tamdulaveyāliya, 6 Samthāraga, 7 Gacchāyāra, 8 Ganivijjā, 9 Deviņdatthaya and 10 Maraṇasamāhī.
We have described above the manuscripts that contain more than one Prakirnakasūtras. Now we shall describe those manuscripts that contain any one Prakirnakasūtra and are utilised in the preparation of the critical edition of that Prakīranakasūtra.
1. Deviņdatthao : We have utilised seven manuscripts in critically editing the text of Devendrastavaprakīrnaka. Of the seven, the five bearing signs o, 5o, go, Alo and to have been described above. The one bearing the sign 90 could not be identified. May be it is some manuscript available to Muni Shri Punyavijayaji or may be it is a manuscript from any of the three Manuscript Libraries established by Rev. Pravartaka Shri Kantivijayaji. The go sign indicates the printed text of Süryaprajñaptisūtra published by the Āgamodaya Samiti, Surat. Five gāthās of Deviņdatthao (258-262) are available in the printed text which has been given the sign Flo. While trying to know more about these five useful găthās, I gathered that Punyavijayaji found them in a manuscript belonging to some collection preserved in the L.D. Institute of Indology, Ahmedabad (See foot-note 2 on page 29). But I have not come across any note by Muni Shri Punyavijayaji, throwing light on the identification of this manuscript. Nothing more could be said about it. This or that gāthā of this Prakīrņaka is found in Jyotişkarandaka, Süryaprajñapti and Āvaśyakaniryvkti.
2. Tamdulaveyāliyapainnayam: In editing this Prakirnaka we have utilised five manuscripts bearing signs o, eto, do, go and go. Here to sign indicates the second manuscript bearing the sign o., The remaining four manuscripts have already been described. The other signs occurring in foot-notes are ao, , , , eo and go.
