ઘણી ઉત્તમ પ્રકારની નથી પણ ડીક છે. એ પુસ્તક લખવાના ખરચ આશરે રૂા. ૨૫ થાય. તે એટલા બધા ખરચીને એ પુસ્તક લખાવવું એમ મારી નજરમાં આવતું નથી. પણ બીજા મેરેને એ પુસ્તક બતાવવું અને બહુ મતે જે કરે તે પ્રમાણે કરવું. ( તા. ૭–૮–૮૩ ).

આવા પ્રકારની બીજી માગણી નિડયાદના વતની ચતુરભાઈ શંકરભાઈ પટેલે તેમની પાસેના જીનાં પુસ્તકાના સંગ્રહ સાસાઈટીને વેચી દેવા કરી હતી પણ તે ગ્રંથાની કિંમત બહુ ભારે અને માંઘી હાવાથી એ વાત પડતી મૂકાઈ હતી.

કવિ દલપતરામના નિવૃત્ત થયા પછી બુદ્ધિપ્રકાશનું કાર્ય મંદ પડયું હતું તેથી સ્વસ્થ ઝવેરીલાલને બુદ્ધિપ્રકાશનું સંપાદન કાર્ય ઉપાડી લેવા કમિટી તરફથી વિનીત કરવામાં આવી હતી; પણ એ પ્રવૃત્તિ પાતે લઈ નહિ શકે એવા ઉત્તર લખતાં એમણે સોસાઈટીને બુદ્ધિપ્રકાશમાં પ્રાચીન કાવ્યેા કટકે કટકે છાપવા સૂચવ્યું હતું. એમના તે શબ્દો નીચે પ્રમાણે હતા: I would take this opportunity of suggesting to the Managing Committee of your Society and to yourself the desirability of publishing in the magazine by monthly instalments, such of the works of the oid Gujarati poets and divines as may be in the possession of the Society with critical or explanatory notes and then issuing them, when complete, in the form of books.
