देवतामूर्ति-प्रकरणम् स्थापित करना।
With the forefingers of both hands raised, and holding a lotus and a danda stands Chitra, guarding the left side of the western portal. To the right of the door stands Vichitra, with the same attributes but held in opposite hands. (45).
उत्तर दिशा के द्वारपाल
तर्जन्यौ किरणं दण्डं किरणाक्षस्तु धारयेत् ।' तर्जनीदण्डापसव्ये कर्तव्यः स सुलोचन: ॥४६ ॥
इति सूर्यायतन-प्रतिहाराः । दो तर्जनी, किरण और दण्ड को धारण करने वाला किरणाक्ष नाम का द्वारपाल सूर्य की उत्तर दिशा द्वार की बाँयी ओर स्थापना, ऊपर के शस्त्रों में तर्जनी और दण्ड को बाँये हाथों में तथा किरण को दाहिने हाथों में धारण करने वाला सुलोचन नाम का द्वारपाल दाहिनी ओर स्थापन करे।
Kiranaksha, with both forefingers raised, and holding a kiran and a danda in his hands, stands to the left of the northern entrance to a 'Surya temple; while Sulochan, with the same attributes but held in opposite hands, stands to the the right. (46). These are the Pratiharas or guardians of a Surya temple.
चन्द्रश्चित्रे विधातव्य: श्वेत: श्वेताम्बरावृतः। दशश्वेताश्वसंयुक्त आरुढ़: स्यन्दने शुभे ॥४७॥ द्विभुजो दक्षिणे पाणौ गदां बिभ्रत् पृथूदरीम् । वामस्तु वरदो हस्त: शशांकस्य निरूप्यते ॥४८ ॥
