८. पुढविकाइया णवगतिया णवआगतिया पण्णत्ता, तं जहा - पुढविकाइए, पुढविकाइएसु उववज्जमाणे पुढविकाइएहिंतो वा, जाव पंचिंदिएहिंतो वा उववज्जेज्जा ।
८. पृथ्वीकायिक जीव नौ प्रकार की गति वाले और नौ प्रकार की आगति वाले हैं
से चेव णं से पुढविकाइए पुढविकायत्तं विप्पजहमाणे पुढविकाइयत्ताए जाव पंचिंदियत्ताए वा 5 गच्छेज्जा । ९. एवमाउकाइयावि जाव पंचिंदियत्ति ।

नवम स्थान
(१) पृथ्वीकायिकों में उत्पन्न होने वाला पृथ्वीकायिक जीव पृथ्वीकायिकों से, यावत् [ अप्कायिकों, तेजस्कायिकों, वायुकायिकों, वनस्पतिकायिकों, द्वीन्द्रियों, त्रीन्द्रियों, चतुरिन्द्रियों] अथवा पंचेन्द्रिय जीवों 5 में से आकर उत्पन्न हो सकता है।

(२) वही पृथ्वीकायिक जीव पृथ्वीकाय को छोड़ कर पृथ्वीकायिक रूप से यावत् [अप्पकायिक, तेजस्कायिक, वायुकायिक, वनस्पतिकायिक, द्वीन्द्रिय, त्रीन्द्रिय, चतुरिन्द्रिय] अथवा पंचेन्द्रिय रूप में उत्पन्न हो सकता है । ९. इसी प्रकार अप्कायिक से लेकर पंचेन्द्रिय तक के सभी जीव नौ प्रकार की गति फ वाले और नौ प्रकार की आगति वाले हैं।

In the same way all beings from Apkayik (water-bodied beings) to Panchendriya (five-sensed beings) also have nine kinds of gatis (reincarnation to) and five aagatis (reincarnation from).
