Indrabhuti was the first disciple of Bhagavan Mahavir born in the year 607 B.C. at Gubbar village near Nalanda. In his childhood he learnt 'Ved-Vedanga' with his two younger brothers, from his Pandit father.

Mahavira's speech on 'Non-Violence' and 'Soul, attracted him to Jainism. With his blessings, Gautamaccepted monkhood at the age of 50, with his 3 brothers and 500 disciples. Bhagwan announced
Once Gautam went to Ashtapada where he climbed the hill with the power generated by Sunbeams. Some Rishis were also trying the same.
"I declare you as my first Ganadhara - The Nayaka of Gana"

Gautam reached the Ashtapad peak and adored the 24 Jinas with devotion.
At the foothill, the Rishis accepted him as their Guru. Gautam brought Kheer for them.
At the age of 92, Gautam performed Samadhi Marana, Today people remember him for his LABDHI
(blessing of abundance).

With the 'Labdhi' of his right thumb, Gautam was able to feed 1503 monks.
