He was born in an Oswal family at Ahmedabad in about Samvat 1663.He lost his father at an early age, so was brought up by his mother. Once during heavy rainfall, he saw that mother was not eating anything. He knew that she used to hear Bhaktamar Stotra before eating but due to rain she couldn't go to Guruji. Young Yashovijay at once started chanting the Stotrathat he had heard only once in the Upasray. Mother was very happy to hear the faultless sacred Bhaktamar and had her meal.

Acharya Nyayvijayji made this talented boy as his disciple and declared him as Yashovijay. He was sent to Kashi for further comparative study of all Indian Philosophy. On the banks of Ganga, Yashovijayji meditated on Goddess Sarasvati to get her blessings. Later on he was conferred the title "Nyay Visharad". He was so talented that no one could challenge him in a debate of all philosophical schools. He was honored by the King in Darbar.
It is said that he guided forty writers (Lahiyas) for different subjects. His contemporary Sadhus were Sakalchandraji, Udayratnaji, Vinayvijayji, Gnanvimalji and Anand Ghanji. Moreover he completed the Shripal Ras after the death of Vinayvijayji. His Nirvana took place at Dabhoi near Baroda.
