________________ Shri Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra www.kobatirth.org Acharya Shri Kailassagarsuri Gyanmandir ૧૯૯૩ Lord Mahavira ૨૨૧ and how when those fine molecules of good or evil Kärmic matter are ready to bear fruit, they become the source of happiness or misery to the individual. As Vishya-bhūti was in the habit of experiencing indifference to worldly objects in his former lives as a human being, he renounced the world on account of the crafty device to remove him from the garden, accepted consecration (la) from a Jain Sadhu, studied under him, and commenced the practice of ever-increasing fasting and penancey. During this Bhaya, Vishva-bhuti had an opportunity of having Dikshã consecration) in accordance with the doctrines of the Jain religion. The unclean sentiment of becoming a triple-staff-Sannyasi (test) arising during his Bhava of Marichi, continued for fourteen later lives in succession, and therefore, he very often accepted consecration as a triple-staff Sannyãsi. The bondage of Chãritra-Mohaniya Karma ( 22HIC M453) Right-conduct deluding Karma, arising from his disaffection towards good conduct (2012) during his life as Marichi, was gradually destroyed during several Bhavas and Vishya-bhūti by the destruction-subgidence of the Chăritra-Mohi Karma, adopted the life of an ascetic (21122417) during this Bhava. Vishva-bhuti Muni studied the scriptures for the preservation of his Chãritra Dharma (123417) life of an ascetic first and then commenced the practice of fasting and penances. He fasted for one month and his body became greatly emaciated. How Karma becomes instrumental in finding out opportunities of degrading himself, for an ascetic advanced in Chãritra Dharma (2122187) and austerities (4410) like Vishva-bhuti, is a subject which needs careful consideration. During his wanderings from place to place, at the end of one month's continuous fasting, Vishv-bhūti went out in searoh of food. As was the inevitable concurrence of Fate, his nephew Vishãkã-nandi came at that time to Mathurā on the occaggion of his marriage there. He went near the camp of Vishākhả-nandi and was seen by him. Vishākhă-nandi misuses the rare opportunity he had, of rising higher in spirituality by respectfully bowing before a Muni, who had continuous fasting for one month and giving food to such a worthy ascetic. This negligence on the part of Vishakha-nandi became the source of great calamity to both of them. Those who are destined to wander long in the Sansära, and the ignorant, are doing damage to themselves and to others. It is bat natural that bodily vigour becomes diminished by continuous fasting. The body of Mahātmā Vishva-bhūti Mupi had become emaciated. He fell down on coming into collision with a cow. Vishākhā-nandi born For Private And Personal Use Only
