________________ Appendix-II - 39 वाणुंजुअवाणिजक noted in Desināmamala and PSM मल हणउ=लीलायमान playful& merrymaking वलिवंडउ is quite common in Apabhramsa-meaning बलात्. मछुड is common in Apabhramsa and is used to introduce an unpleasant possibility. With all this, the interrelationship of the statements and consequently the purport remains unclear. The Apabhramsa verse cited on p. 442 as an illustration of a type of the Prativastukti variety of Samya is as follows: Tentatively this may be restored as under : The metre seems to be Rāsāvalaya (21 Mātrās per line with the last five Mātrās having the - VVV). But the first line violates the characteristic rhythm of the Rāsāvalaya. The second line seems to be defective. The idea is that as compared to the beautiful face of the girl, the moon is just like a black potsherd thrown in the air after thə evil warding-off rite. : The Apabhraísa citation on p. 730 given as an illustration of Arthāntaranyāsa mixed with Slesa is as follows :
