________________ Thus, after a period of 600 years from the birth, of the Buddha, the period of Manjusri-Yasa occurred when the karana had been Dhruva; from that after 800 years there began the Mleccha era, thereafter subtracting 182 years occurred kalki era, calculated astronomically. The period is further calculated into 130 years. In order to explain the mlecchavaria I have obtained another small manuscript based on the calculations of the Kalacakra named "Kalacakranusariganitam" which on its first folio states that the era points to saka-varsa 1091. In Vikrama Samvat 679 the Hijri era began. The commentary speaks of this period to be mlecchakala, whence in V. S. 679 the Hijri era began. In this chronological structure there had been a military march of King Mahamud of Ghazni (C. 1025 A. D.). During the march there will be great holocast resulting in moral crisis. Alongwith the notable events the method of escape from the orgies has also been stipulated. According to Vimalaprabha, the era was so called Mleccha Madhumat. Among the details of the Hijri era, we, subsequently find Mecca being referred and a great war taking place in Baghdad. The commentary states that there will be (or took place) a terrible war among the Devas, Danavas and Mlecchas in the city of Baghdad. At that time only the spiritual message of the Kalacakra would save them, So sayeth the Lord (Yasa), "I must enter the mandala hallowed by the Lord Kalacakra and perform consecration (abhiseka) for the joy of the mundane and the transcendent worlds." . The semblance of Kalacakra from the historical angle in giving de tails of real situations is further comprehended in telling the names of the preceptors who preached the Tantra. The order is : Adi Buddha, Dasabala and Manjusri Yasa, Dasabala had abridged the tantra and thereupon Manjusri preached at Kalapa a minor tantra (laghu tantra). Taking this work as a "base Sucandra wrote a comprehensive commentary in 60,000 slokas which was abridged by Pundarika in 12,000 slokas called the Vimalabrabha. The special trait of this commentary is that it fully delineates the Vajrapada, "Asmin tantre maya tika Sugata Vyakstena vai, Manjusricoditenaiva lokanathena likhyate (V. P., P. 1) In the transmission of the Kalacakra, Buddha and Bodhisatva stand .. for the guru and sisya as in the nirmana and sambhoga kayas. Here, the physical bodied Vajrapani Sucandra propitiates the Buddha for the prosperrity of the beings. The Tathagata heeds the prayer and preaches the illuminating tantra to the people of Sambhala, dwellers of the village like xxiii)
