________________ fest in the term "Evam" in which "E" is the Vajrasimhasana on which is the "Vankara" seated. From this it may be inferred that the Kalacakra Tantra was discoursed by the Adi Buddha Sucandra, the son of the Lord of . Kalapa-grama, Suryaprabha and his consort Vijayadevi convened the council for the deliverance of Kalacakra. Thus, this tantra traces, a human pedigree also of the sakya Sage as having been born of King Suddhodana and Mahamaya Devi who preached the esoteric method. In the allegorical sense, Buddha represents the "Psych" in all its luminosity as against the tempter (Mara) who is grounded in impurities. What, therefore, calls for effacement of Mara is the emanation of the Buddha Mind. From this simple analogy of Buddha and Sucandra Vajrapani the commentator replies the objection of some tantrika scholars that the esoteric methods are only divinely instilled. Efficacy of birth and place do not cou for the transmission of the Kalacakra. The historicity of the tantra has also been clearly established on acute chronology. The mula Vimalaprabha Tika describes the early Islamic history as found in any competent work. The events are so graphically cast that they appear to have been taking shape before the very eyes of the commentator, "Adyabdat satasatabdaih prakatayasahnspa Sambhalakhye bhavisyatis, Tasmannagaih Satabdaih Khalu makhavisaye mlecchadharmapravsittih|| Tasminkale dharanyam sphutalaghukaranam manavairveditavyam, Siddhanam Vinasah Sakalabhuvi tale Kalayoge Bhavisyati." (p. 27). . The word "Adya" stands for the appearance of Tathagata Buddha. After six hundred years of his appearance the illustrious Manjusri would be born in the north of the Sita River in Sambhala and eight hundred years thenceforth would grow in the land of Makha (Mecca in Arabia) a community of the Mlecchas). At that time the principles of jyotisa like the Brahma, Saura, Yamanaka and Romaka would vanish and those hostile to the Buddha will perish. But Buddhists would be saved on the term of practising the Kalacakra Tantra. Such a time called for the wisdom of "Sphutalaghu Karanam", a jyotisa specification about which it has been said, "Vahnau khe' bdhau vimisram prabhavamukhagatam mlecchavarsam prasiddham/ Unam mlecchendra varsam karaphanasasina Sesamarkahatam ca/ ( xxii)
