certain, O aspirant, that there is no further unfortunate reversion to mundane existence, once the Karmic fallout is fully disposed of. No more incarcerations, woes and anguishes thenceforth. No more reincarnation thereafter. He attains the ultimate and stays ever in bliss and transcendental tranquillity, freed of all possibilities of recurrence of life and death.
कम्ममूलमनिव्वाणं, संसारे सव्वदेहिणं।
कम्ममूलाई दुक्खाई, कम्ममूलं च जम्मिणं।।1।। 1. संसार के समस्त देहधारियों के भव-भ्रमण का मूल कर्म है। दुःखों का मूल कर्म है और जन्म का मूल भी कर्म है।
1. Karmas generate reincarnation for all living beings. These Karmas cause woe and draw one to mundane existence.
संसारसंतईमूलं, पुण्णं पावं पुरेकडं।
पुण्णपावनिरोहाय, सम्मं संपरिव्वए।।2। 2. पूर्व में आचरित पुण्य और पाप ही संसार-परम्परा के मूल हैं। पुण्य और पाप का निरोध करने के लिये मुमुक्षु सम्यक् प्रकार से संयम ग्रहण करे।
2. The moral desert emanating from past deeds lands us into our mundane state. The aspirant should smother all Karmic accumulation of good and evil deeds by an ascetic feat.
पुण्णपावस्स आदाणे, परिभोगे यावि देहिणं।
संतईभोगपाओग्गं, पुण्णं पावं सयं कडं।।3।। 3. स्वकृत पुण्य और पाप के फलस्वरूप ही देहधारी प्राणी को पुण्य-पाप के ग्रहण और परिभोग में भोगने योग्य वस्तुओं की परम्परा प्राप्त होती है।
3. Mundane rewards and punishments are a direct consequence of good and evil deeds.
संवरो निज्जरा चेव, पुण्णपावविणासणं।
संवरं निज्जरं चेव, सव्वहा सम्ममायरे।।4।। 4. संवर और निर्जरा पुण्य और पाप के विनाशक हैं। अतः (मुमुक्षु) संवर और निर्जरा का पूर्णरूपेण सम्यक् प्रकार से आचरण करे।
4. Let the aspirant practice desirelessness and piety to exhaust all good and evil accumulation of deeds and resolutely choke further generation of Karmas.
