32. बत्तीसं पिंगज्झयणं
दिव्वं भो किसिं किसेज्जा, णो अप्पिणेज्जा। पिंगेण माहणपरिव्वायएणं अरहता इसिणा बुइतं।
भो मुमुक्षु! दिव्य कृषि (खेती) कर। दिव्य कृषि का त्याग मत कर। ऐसा अर्हत् माहण परिव्राजक पिंग ऋषि बोले
O Aspirant, please sow the divine crop. Never avert from the divine, said Brahmin Ping, the enlightened seer :
कतो छत्तं, कतो बीयं, कतो ते जुयणंगलं? गोणा वि ते ण पस्सामि, अज्जो, का णाम ते किसी ?।।1।।
1. हे आर्य! तुम्हारा क्षेत्र–खेत कहाँ है? बीज कहाँ है? हल कहाँ है? तुम्हारे बैल भी नहीं देख रहा हूँ। फिर तुम्हारी किस प्रकार की खेती है?
1. Where does lie your field, O Arya? What be thy seed? I find no bullocks with you. How do you till land then?
आता छत्तं, तवो बीयं, संजमो जुयणंगलं।
अहिंसा समिती जोज्जा, एसा धम्मन्तरा किसी।।2।। ___ 2. आत्मा क्षेत्र है, तप बीज है, संयम हल है और अहिंसा एवं समिति रूप बैल जोड़ी है। यह धर्मगर्भा/आध्यात्मिक खेती है।
2. Soul is the field, penances the seed, self-restraint the plough and non-violence and equanimity constitute tie pair of bullocks. This way lies the spiritual agriculture.
एसा किसी सोभतरा, अलुद्धस्स वियाहिता।
एसा बहसई होइ, परलोकसुहावहा।।3।। 3. यह खेती अतीव शुभ-कल्याणकारी है। इस खेती का निष्पादन निर्लोभी ही कर सकता है। यह खेती पवित्रतम है और परलोक में सुख प्रदान करने वाली है।
3. This variety of agriculture is highly auspicious. Only a non-avaricióus being can succeed in it and none else. This is the holy agriculture and it yields lasting happiness hereafter.
