आइरिऍहिँ उद्धूलिअ-छारें घरेहिँ पइसिस दीवा जालिअ
शीर्षभिः वाहितेन जटा- भारेण ।
[आचार्यै: भस्मोद्धूलितैः गृहेषु प्रविश्य दीपाः ज्वालिताः कोणेषु उपविश्य घण्टाः चालिताः ॥ ]

सीससु वाहिअएं जड - भारें । कोणेंहिँ बइसिअ घंटा चालिअ ॥
The Acaryas, besmearing their bodies with ashes and carrying on their heads the burden of matted hair, entering in the homes have been lighting lamps and occupying the corners, they move bells (for ringing ).
अक्खि णिवेसिय आसणु बंधिअ रंडिअ मुंडिअ अण्ण- वि वेसें
दीह - णक्ख जइ मलिणें वेसें खवर्णेहिँ जाण - विडंबिअ-वेसे
[ अक्षिणी निवेश्य आसनं बध्वा रण्डिताः मुण्डिताः अन्ये अपि वेशेन दीक्ष्यन्ते दक्षिणा - उद्देशेन !]

कहिँ खुसफुसाइ जण धंधिय । दिक्खिज्जहिँ दक्खिण - उद्देसें ॥
Steadying the eyes, assuming fixed sitting postures, these uselessly fussy men whishper in the ears. Aiming at getting Dakṣiņā, they initiate into monkhood the widows, the _shavenheads and others of (similar) outfit.
कर्णेषु उपजपन्ति जनाः मिथ्या प्रवृत्ताः ।
गुड होवि उपाडिअ - केसें । अप्पण वाहिअ मोक्खुवएसें ॥
[दीर्घ-नखाः यतयः मलिनेन वेशन नग्नाः भूत्वा उत्पाटितेन केशेन । आत्मा वञ्चितः मोक्षोपदेशेन ॥]
