The use of Nāranga should be sown in a slanting position with hand एकैकं स्थूलबीजाने लघुबीजान्यनेकशः । हस्ताग्रेणैवनारङ्गबीजं वक्रेण निर्वपेत् ॥1 Anila, i.e. Svāti, Uttarāşadha, Uttarābhādrapada, Uttarāphālgunī, Rohini, Mrgsirā, Mula, Punarvasu, Pusya, Sravana and Hasta are good stars for plowing अनिलोत्तररोहिण्यां मृगमूलपुनर्वसौ । पुष्यश्रवणहस्तासु कुर्याद्धलप्रसारणम् ॥2 ___Plowing on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday results in good growth of crops हलप्रसारणं कार्य कृषकैः शस्यवृद्धये । शुक्रेन्दुजीववारेषु शशिजस्य विशेषतः ॥3 Commencement of plowing on Tuesday, Saturday or Sunday may cause impediments from king भौमार्कदिवसे चैव तथा च शनिवासरे । कृषिकर्म समारम्भो राज्योपद्रवमादिशेत् ॥4 The second, third, fifth, seventh, tenth, eleventh and thirteenth day of a month are good for plowing दशम्येकादशी चैव द्वितीया पञ्चमी तथा । त्रयोदशी तृतीया च सप्तमी च शुभावहा ॥85 If plowing is commenced on the first day of a month loss of crop may result. Starting on from the twelfth day can lead to death and arre causes several obstacles while the non-moon day, without the appearance of the moon, ruins the farmer
