Despised and degraded in the community in which they lived, they sighed for a change and the invidious distinction becamo unbearable as they increased in :number, pursued various useful industries, owned lands and villages and gained in influence and power. Thus society, was held in cast-iron moved which it had long out grovn; and the social, religious and legal Itterature of the day still proclaimed and upheld the cruel injustice against the Sudra, long after the Sudra had become civilized and industrious, and a worthy
member of society. __अर्थात्-२५०० वर्ष पहिले आर्यवर्तकी स्थिति ऐसी थी कि 'धर्मकी यथार्थ भावनाका नाश होचुका था और उसका स्थान अर्थहीन आचार विचारने ले रखा था। उत्तम समाजिक और नैतिक नियम, दुष्ट ज्ञाति भेइसे और ब्राह्मणोंके लिये खास: हक और शुद्रोके लिये घातकी धाराओंसे विक्षत थे ऐसे ज्ञातिजन्य विशेष अधिकारसे उल्टी ब्राह्मणोंकी स्थिति विगड़ने लगी। सारे समान 'पर वे इतने लोभी और लालची अज्ञान और अभिमानी बन गये कि ब्राह्मण सूत्रकारोंको भी इस वस्तुस्थितिको बहुत सख्त भाषामें दर्शाना पड़ा था ।शुद्रों जिन्होंने कि आर्यधर्मकी छत्रछायाके नीचे आश्रय लिया था उनके लिये धार्मिक शिक्षण और व्रत
