The Jain Swetamber Conference.

Owing to internal disputes and difference about the Resolntion of “ Dikasha '' passed at the Session of the above Institution at Junnar held in the year 1930 the Office-holders and the Working Committee of the conference have neither been able to do much work to carry out the aims and objects of the above Institution or to put into force the various resolutions passed at its Sessions.
The next Session was held in Bombay in 1934 A, D, when the new Constitution of the above Institution was passed. Since then, though, the said Constitution provides for holding annual Sessions of the above Institution, the Working Committee has not been able to hold any Sessions of the Conference. It is high time that the disputes or differences be settled and the next Session be held during the course of the year at some centre approved by the Working Committee.
Thirty two resolutions were passed at the Bombay Sessions out of which a few were formal. The rest were important. It should be seriously considered whether any useful purpose is served by passing so many resolutions when the Working Committee-the
૭. જનતાનુ' પ્રેમ જીતી લેવા માટે કાર્તિ નિરતા, સ્વાર્થ ત્યાગ, અને સમાજના દૂષિત ભાગેાનું અચુક જ્ઞાન એ ગુણાની જરૂર છે. શ્રમસાતત્ય અને કીર્તિલાલુપતાના અભાવ જ્યાં વ્હેવામાં આવે છે ત્યાં ગાવાનું આપનું સ્વાભાવિક જ ઉત્પન્ન થાય છે. અને વિચારી વ` આપે।આપ તે સંસ્થા તરફ્ વળે છે. ત્યારેજ ખરૂ સધટન ઉત્પન્ન થાય છે. કૃત્રિમ અને મલમપટીનું સધટન એ ટકાઉ હૈાતું નથી. એ નિર્વિવાદ વાત છે. માટે સધટન કરવુ હાય તે તે સત્ય અને નિર્વિકાર પાયા ઉપર રચાએલું હાવું જોઇએ. માટેજ કાન્ફરન્સે તેના અધિવેશના હમેશ ભરતાજ રહેવું જોઇએ. તેમાં ભરતી કે એટના આંદાલને ભલે ચાલ્યાજ કરે. પણ દરેક વિષય વિચારી જગત આગળ મુકાય છે અને તેની છણાવટ થઇ તેમાંથી સત્ય સ્વરૂપ તરી આવે છે. અને એકંદરે વિચારતા પ્રગતીની દ્રષ્ટીથી લાભજ થાય છે. વા નિરાશા જેવું વાતાવરણ જણાય તેથી કાકરા નાસીપાસ નજ થાય. હીલચાલ, મંથન, વિચાર વિનિમય અને સંઘટન એ પરંપરા ક્રમપ્રાપ્ત છે એમાં નિસર્ગ વિરૂદ્ધ કાંઈ પણ નથી. આજના વિરોધક તેજ કાલના સુધારક,

governing body of the Institution and its Office-holders are not able to do any substaintial work to carry out the same.
Resolution No. 2 about industrial training and commercial education and Resolution No. 4 regarding unemployment among the Jains passed so far back as 1934 at Bombay
Sessions seems to have received no attention at all from the Working Committee and the Office-holders.
May I suggest that steps should be taken by the Working Committee and the General Secretaries to appoint a small but influential Committee with a view to inquire into the economic and industrial condition of the Jains and to suggest ways and means whereby the economic condition of the Jains be improved and the Jains be able to regain the position which they once occupied as Captains of industry and business magnets. In the meantime funds should be raised and young educated Jains should be sent to foreign lands to get practical knowledge and experience in diverse industries and commercial concerns with a view to revive old and to start new industries which may improve not only the economic condition of our Community but of our Motherland.
ન પળાયા છે. વિજ્ઞાન જનારાગ્યાના બહીષ્કાર કરનારાઓ પાછળથી વિલાયતની વારવાર યાત્રા કરે છે. આભડછેટને માથે લેઈ ગજારવ કરનારા પાછળથી પેતેિજ અસ્પૃશ્યતાના નિવારવા બને છૅ. ીમાત્ર પ્રસિદ્ધ કરવામાં કર. માનહાની અને ગૌપ્ટફાટ જેવુ' માનનારા આજે હીસાબની ચોખવટ સરકાર મારફતે કબુલ કરનારા બની ગયા છે. ભાવનગર કાન્ફરન્સ વખતે હિસાબ પ્રગટ કરવાના વિરૂદ્ધ વાતાવરણ સક્ષુબ્ધ થયું હતું. અને પર પરાના દુક્કો માર્યાં જવાની ધાસ્તી પેદા થઇ હતી. અને પૂના કાન્ફરન્સ વખતે મધ્યમ માર્ગ પ્રણ કરી માંડવાળ કરવી પડી હતી. તે દિવસ ક્યાં પેદા થાય છે તેના દાખલા કાંઇ ઓછા નથી. માટે વિરોધગયા ? હીસાબ પ્રગટ નહી કરવાથી કેટલી અન પર પરા ઢાથી કાઇને પણ ડરવાનું હોયજ નહી કાર્યાં કરે જવું. અને તે પણ નિરપેક્ષ વૃત્તીથી કરે જવું, જેનું ફળ મળ્યા વિના નહી રહે. માટે અમુક રીસાએલાઓને મનાવવા જતા બીજા રીસામના વધી પડવાની સંભવ રહે છે તેથીજ પરામ થઇ સમાજેન્નતીના કાર્યો કરવા એ દરેક જૈનનું આદ્ય કવ્યુ છે.
