85555555555555555555555555555555555555 म की ओर जाए, एक देव ऊर्ध्वदिशा की ओर जाए और एक देव अधोदिशा में जाए (ऐसे तो यह है 卐 असद्भूतार्थ कल्पना है, जो संभव नहीं)। उस काल और उसी समय में एक गृहपति के घर में ॥
एक बालक का जन्म हुआ हो, जो कि एक लाख वर्ष की आयु वाला हो। तत्पश्चात् उस ॐ बालक के माता-पिता का देहावसान हुआ, इतने समय में भी देव अलोक का अन्त नहीं प्राप्त करके
सकें। तत्पश्चात् उस बालक का भी देहान्त हो गया। उसकी अस्थि और मज्जा भी विनष्ट हो गई
और उसकी सात पीढ़ियों के बाद वह कुल-वंश भी नाश हो गया तथा उसके नाम-गोत्र भी ॐ समाप्त हो गए। इतने लम्बे समय तक चलते रहने पर भी वे देव अलोक के अन्त को प्राप्त नहीं कर सकते।
27-1. [Q.] Bhante ! How large is the Alok (space beyond the universe) said to be ?
[Ans.] Gautam ! The time-region or the world of the humans is 4.5 million square Yojans etc.-as mentioned in the story of Skandak in lesson ॐ first of chapter second... and so on up to... its circumference.
At some point of time, if ten gods with great opulence... and so on up to... great happiness stand at different points all around the world of
humans, and beneath them eight Dikkumaris (goddesses of directions), 5 each carrying a lump of dough in hands, stand facing four cardinal and
four intermediate directions. Now, the goddesses throw out the lump of dough simultaneously away from Manushottar mountain. Gautam! If each god is capable of dashing forward with a tremendous speed to catch the lumps before they touch the ground, and if with such superhuman
speed one god dashes in the east, one in the west, one in the north, one 4 in the south, one each in the four intermediate directions, one in the
Zenith and one in the Nadir; and at that moment a son with a life span of one thousand years is born to a merchant and in due course the parents die; even after the passage of so much time the gods cannot reach the end of the Alok. After that the boy completes his life span and passes away, still the gods fail to reach the end of the Alok. Then after the passage of a long period the bones and marrow of the boy completely decay, even till then the gods do not reach the end. After this seven generations of the boy pass and still the gods are not near the end of the Alok. Even after the extinction of the lineage of the boy and wiping of the name from the social memory the gods cannot reach the end of Alok (the space beyond the universe).
