विवेचन - प्रस्तुत सूत्र में श्रमण भगवान महावीर ने बकरियों के बाड़े में उनके मूलमूत्रादि का दृष्टान्त देकर समझाया है कि लोक में ऐसा कोई परमाणु पुद्गल मात्र प्रदेश अछूता नहीं है जहाँ जीव ने जन्म मरण न किया हो ।
इस बात की पुष्टि के पाँच कारण कहे गए हैं - (१) लोक शाश्वत है- यदि लोक विनाशी होता.
तो यह बात सम्भव नहीं हो सकती थी । अतः लोक के शाश्वत होने पर ही उपर्युक्त घटना घटित हो सकती है । (२) लोक अनादि है-लोक के शाश्वत होने पर भी यदि वह सादि (आदि सहित ) हो तो उपर्युक्त बात घटित नहीं हो सकती, इसलिए कहा गया- लोक अनादि है । (३) जीवात्मा नित्य
भी
है - अनन्त जीवों की अपेक्षा से प्रवाहरूप से संसार अनादि हो, किन्तु विवक्षित जीव अनित्य हो तो भी उपर्युक्त
अर्थ घटित नहीं हो सकता, इसलिए कहा गया- जीव (आत्मा) नित्य है । (४) कर्मों की
बहुलता है— जीव नित्य होने पर भी यदि कर्म अल्प हों तो भी तथाविध संसार परिभ्रमण नहीं हो सकता, और वैसी स्थिति में उपर्युक्त कथन घटित नहीं हो सकता, इसलिए कहा गया - कर्मों की बहुलता है। (५) जन्म-मरण की बहुलता है - कर्मों की बहुलता होने पर भी यदि जन्म-मरण की अल्पता हो तो पूर्वोक्त अर्थ घटित नहीं हो सकता, इसलिए बतलाया गया - जन्म-मरण की बहुलता है।
इस प्रकार इन पाँच कारणों से लोक में एक परमाणु मात्र भी आकाश-प्रदेश ऐसा नहीं है, जहाँ जीव जन्मा न हो, और मरा न हो ।
Elaboration-In this statement Shraman Bhagavan Mahavir has that in Lok (universe) there is no such space-point even as small as an ultimate particle of matter (Ultron) where this jiva (living being) has not been born or died by giving the example of a cattle-yard for goats where no place is left untouched with excreta of goats.

Five reasons have been given for this-1. Eternality of this universeIf the universe was not eternal this would not have been possible, but as the universe is eternal this is true. 2. Beginning-less state of the cycles of rebirth (Samsaar) - even when the universe is eternal this could not be possible if the cycles of rebirth had a beginning; because the total past time would have reduced; but as the cycles of rebirth (Samsaar) are without a beginning this is true. 3. Immortality of jiva (soul) - even when the existence of souls is without a beginning, this could not be possible if soul was not immortal because then the total number of souls would keep on reducing; but as soul is immortal it is true. 4.
