[उ.] गौतम! जैसे कोई पुरुष सौ बकरियों के लिए एक विशाल अजाब्रज अर्थात् बकरियों के म का बाड़ा बनाए और उसमें वह कम से कम एक, दो अथवा तीन और अधिक से अधिक एक है
हजार बकरियों को रखे। वहाँ उनके लिए घास-चारा चरने की प्रचुर भूमि और प्रचुर पानी हो।
यदि वे बकरियाँ वहाँ कम से कम एक, दो अथवा तीन दिन और अधिक से अधिक छह महीने की 5 तक रहें, तो हे गौतम! क्या उस बाड़े का कोई भी परमाणु-पुद्गल मात्र प्रदेश ऐसा रह सकता है, म + जो उन बकरियों के मल, मूत्र, श्लेष्म (कफ), नाक के मैल (लीट), वमन, पित्त, शुक्र, रुधिर, म चर्म, रोम, सींग, खुर और नखों से (पूर्व में अनाक्रान्त) स्पर्श न किया हो (तब गौतम स्वामी ने के उत्तर देते हुए कहा- भगवन!) यह अर्थ समर्थ नहीं है। (तदोपरान्त भगवान ने कहा-) हे ॐ गौतम! कदाचित् उस बाड़े में कोई एक परमाणु-पुद्गल मात्र प्रदेश ऐसा भी रह सकता है, जो है ॐ उन बकरियों के मल यावत् नखों से स्पृष्ट न हुआ हो, परन्तु इतने बड़े इस लोक में, लोक के म
शाश्वत भाव के कारण, संसार के अनादि भाव होने के कारण, जीव के नित्य भाव, कर्म-बहुलता है। तथा जन्म-मरण की बहुलता के कारण कोई परमाणु-पुद्गल मात्र प्रदेश ऐसा नहीं है जहाँ इस जीव ने जन्म-मरण नहीं किया हो। हे गौतम! इसी कारण उपर्युक्त कथन किया गया है कि यावत् जन्म-मरण न किया हो।
3-2. (Q.) Bhante ! Why is it said that in such gigantic Lok (universe) $ there is no such space-point even as small as an ultimate particle of matter 4 (Ultron) where this jiva (soul/living being) has not been born or died ?
___[Ans.] Gautam ! For example, some person makes a large cattle-yards for one hundred goats and in that he keeps at least one, two or three and at most one thousand goats. In the yard there is ample land with grass to graze and ample water. Those goats live there for at least one, two or three days and at most six months. Then, O Gautam ! In that cattle-yard can a space-point even as small as an ultimate particle of matter (Ultron) remain untouched (as in the past) with the excreta, urine, phlegm, noseslime, vomit, bile, semen, blood, skin, horns, hooves or claws ? (Gautam Swami replied- Bhante ! ) That is not true. (Then Bhagavan added-) Gautam! There may be a chance that a single space-point remains untouched with excreta... and so on up to... claws of those goats, but in such gigantic Lok (universe) there is no such space-point even as small as an ultimate particle of matter (Ultron) where this jiva (living being) has
not got born or died; this is because of the eternality of this universe, ___beginning-less state of the cycles of rebirth (Samsaar), immortality of jivat
