guidance of Pt. Sukhlal Ji, a renowned scholar of Jainology and on his advice a Institution was started in the name of Parshvanath Vidyashram Shodh Sansthan at Banaras, birth place of 23rd Tirthankara, Lord Parshvanath near Banaras Hindu University in a humble way in a rented premises and scholarships were provided to students who wished to study in Jainology. For the promotion of studies at the Ashram a Library in the name of Satavadhani Ratanchand was established and Boarding and and Lodging was also arranged for the students. As the activities of the Ashram were increasing every year, so it was decided to procure more land for the institution and in 1953 the management succeeded in purchasing about 4 acre land from the Govt. and took possession in 1956 and the construction of Parshvanath Vidyashram Building was started. At present there is vast accomodation having Directors Bunglaow, Library, Big Halls, Hostels, Teachers Quarters, A Museum, Guest house for visitors, Sadhanabhavan for Jain saints. It was all accomplished due to dedication and hard work put by Late Shri Harjas Rai Ji, and presently by Shri Bhupendra Nath ji Jain, Secreatary, Parshvanath Vidyapitha Managing Committee.
On account of hard work and dedication fo Shri Bhupendra Nath Ji Jain, the institute is now under active considertaion of University Grants Commission and ministry of eduaction, Govt. of India for status of Deemed to be University.
It is matter of Plaeasure for me that on the eve of Parsvanatha Vidyapitha's Diamond Jubilee Celebration he is being fecilitated. I pray to God to let him live longer.
