________________ 16 Illuminator of Jaina Tenets [ Lustre 1 २५. असंख्येयाः प्रदेशा धर्माधर्मलोकाकाशकजीवानाम् । 25. asamkhye yāḥ pradeśā dharmādharmalokākāśaīkajīvānām. (Aph.) There are innumerable pradesas (indivisible points) in dharma, adharma, cosmic ākāśa, and each jīva (soul). (XXV) २६. अलोकस्यानन्ताः। 26. alokasyānantāḥ (Aph.) The supra-cosmic space has infinite pradeśas. (XXVI) . २७. संख्येयाऽसंख्येयाश्च पुद्गलानाम् । चकारादनन्ता अपि । 27. samkhye yā'samkhyejāś ca pudgalānām. cakārād anantā api. (Aph.) Material bodies have also countable (numerically expressible) and innumerab'e (number of) indivisible pradesas. (XXVII) (Gloss) The term 'also' (in the aphorism) implies (that) the material bodies can have infinite number (of indivisible points) as well. २८. न परमाणोः। परमाणोरेकत्वेन निरंशत्वेन च न प्रदेशः । 28. na paramānoh. paramāņor ekatvena niramśatvena ca na pradeśaḥ. (Aph.) An atom has no pradesa (XXVIII) (Gloss) An atom has no indivisible point, because it is itself unitary and indivisible. २६. कालोऽप्रदेशी। 29. kālo'pradesi (Aph.) Kāla (time) has no pradeśa. (XXIX) ३०. बुद्धिकल्पितो वस्त्वंशो देशः। वस्तुनोऽपृथग्भूतो बुद्धिकल्पितोंऽशो देश उच्यते। 30. buddhikalpito vastvamso desah. vastuno'prthagbhuto buddhikalpitom'so desa ucyate. (Aph.) A fragment of an entity, constructed by the imagination, is called desa (fraction). (XXX) (Gloss) The fragment of an entity which is incapable of being actually sundered (and hence an inalienable element of it) is only an intellectual construction. This is called fraction (desa).
