________________ Sütra 10 ) Bondage, Merit, Demerit, Influx sāgaropamāņi parā sthitiḥ. mohaniyasyal saptatih. nāmagotrayor vimšatih. trayastrimśat sāgaropamāņi āyusah. aparā—dvādaśamuhürttā: vedaniyasya. nāmagotrayor aştau. seş& ņāṁ cāntarmuhurttam. ekasāgarakoţikoţisthitim anu varşaśatam abādhākālaḥ. (Aph.) Duration is the determination of the length of time. (IX) (Gloss) For instance, the maximum duration of the knowledgeobscuring, intuition-obscuring, feeling-producing and the hindranceproducing karman is thirty sāgaropama-koti-koti; that of the deludingkarman is seventy (sāgara-koti-koți); that of the body-determining and family-determining karmans is twenty; and that of life-span-determining karman is thirty-three sägaropamas; the other (viz. the minimum) duration of the feeling-producing; however, is twelve muhūrttas; that of the body-determining and family-determining is eight and that of the rest is less than a muhürtta. For every sāgara-koti-koți of duration there is a hibernation period of one hundred years (during which the karman remains unrealized) 8o. Fantatsgat: 1 रसोऽनुभागोनुभावः फलम्-एते एकार्थाः। स च द्विधातीव्राध्यवसायनिमित्तस्तीवः, मन्दाध्यवसायनिमित्तश्च मन्दः। .... कर्मणां जडत्वेऽपि पथ्यापथ्याहारवत् ततो जीवानां तथाविधफलप्राप्तिर विरुद्धा । नैतदर्थमीश्वरः कल्पनीयः । 10. vipāko’nubhāgah. raso’nubhāgo'nubhāvaḥ phalam-ete ekārthāḥ. sa ca dvidhā-tīvra. dhyavasāyanimittas tīvraḥ, mandādhyavasāyanimittaś ca manda). karmaṇāṁ jadatve'pi pathyāpathyābäravat tato jīvānām tatha vidhaphalaprāptir aviruddhā, naitadartham īśvaraḥ kalpanīyaḥ. (Aph.) Intensity is intensity of) fruition. (X) 2 sa 4 darśanamohanīyāpekṣayā cāritramohaniyasya tu catvārimsat kotikoţisāgaropamāņi sthitih. samparāyasätavedaniyam äśritya. àyuşo'pavādah. This is with reference to the faith-deluding karman. That of the conduct-dolud - ing is, however, forty sāgaropama-koti-koți. This is with reference to pleasure-feeling-producing karman which is responsible for worldly life.
