The expression and the like' refers to the following and many other classifications of the soul-principle : subtle, gross; possessed of right attitude, possessed of wrong attitude; possessed of self-control and devoid of self-control; remiss and spiritually alert; possessed of attachment and devoid of attachment; non-omniscient and omniscient; possessed. of activities and devoid of activities; three-fold sex characteristics; four forms of existence; five classes; six types of bodies; fourteen stages of spiritual development; fourteen types of souls; twenty-four dandakas, and the like. (Note): The beings who have accomplished the paryaptis available to them are 'developed' and those who have not done so are 'underdeveloped:. See aphs. 10,11. १०. भवारम्भे पौदगलिकसामर्थ्य निर्माणं पर्याप्तिः। 10. bhavārambhe paudgalikasāmarthyanirmānam paryāptih. (Aph.) Bio-potential (paryāpti) means the building up of material forces at the very beginning of rebirth. (X) ११. आहार-शरीरेन्द्रियोच्छ्वासनिःश्वास-भाषा-मनांसि । आहारप्रायोग्य - पुद्गल - ग्रहण-परिणमनोत्सर्गरूपं पौद्गलिक-सामर्थ्योत्पादनमाहारपर्याप्तिः । एवं शरीरादिपर्याप्त योऽपि भावनीयाः। षण्णामपि प्रारम्भ उत्पत्तिसमये, पूर्तिस्त्वाहारपर्याप्तेरेकसमयेन, शेषाणां च क्रमेणैकैकेनान्तर्मुहूर्तेन । यत्न भवे येन यावत्यः पर्याप्तयः करणीयास्तावतीष्वसमाप्तासु सोऽ पर्याप्तः, समाप्तासु च पर्याप्त इति । 11. āhāra-sarirendriyocchvāsanihsvāsa-bhāsa-manāmsi. aharaprayogya-pudgala-grahana-parinamanotsargarupam paudgalikasāmarthyotpādanam āhāraparyāptiḥ. evaṁ śarīrādiparyāptayo'pi bhavaniyah. şaņņām api prārambha utpattisamaye, pūrtis tv āhāraparyāpter ekasamayena, seşāņāṁ ca kramenaikaikenāntarmuhurtena. yatra bhave yena yāvatyaḥ paryāptayaḥ karaniyās tāvatīşv asamāptāsu so'paryāptaḥ, samāptāsu ca paryāpta iti.
