Text. Lahor pai kiih charhaf phauj sab, judnos; kain pari hai laydi?
1 Idhar se Aye jhar Parbiyâ; udhar Sikh charht dye, Idhar sê aye sojar gorâ; udhar se selar dbâye. Lahor pai kinhfa charhdi phauj sab, juodnon ; laist pari hai lardi ?
2 Barjan, burjan gora charhi gaye : paltan dhai hai sârt. Panchwar Risala ko dhawa whai gâyo, Raja ki topaid chhinai.

Translation. An the army marched on Lahore, my boyo ; how went the fight?
From this side came the Purbiyâ men : from that side came up the Sikhs. From this side came the white soldiers ; from that side came the sailors.

The white men climbed the towers, and all the regiments rushed up. The Fifth Cavalry attacked and captured the guns of the Raja. All the army marohor on Lahore, my boys; how went the fight?
