________________ अनेकान्त 67/3, जुलाई-सितम्बर 2014 now being accepted by modern science as statement of Albert Einstein. Mahavir said the universe is neither created by God nor it is an illusion. Existence of the universe is an Absolute Truth. According to Mahavir, the universe is eternal and continuously evolving. Pudagal Parmanu (Atom) and cosmic consciousness are two eternal components of the universe which create the universe according to the natural Law - Upneiva, Vigneiva, Dhruveiva. Modern scientists call this law as the 'Law of conservation of Mass and Energy'. All type of living and nonliving object and substances found in the universe are created in accordance with this conservation law. IN the process of creation and destruction, neither the atom nor the soul is created or destroyed. In other words the universe ins a closed system in with nothing can enter from outside and nothing can go out of it. The Authors Argue that unlike Buddha Bhagvan Mahavir made scientific statement that "Truth" is 'Absolute' as well as Relative. Absolute Truth is known only to the universal observer. The human beings know truth only relative to Space, Time, Mass and Phase. Hence truth changes according to the frame of reference. About 2500 years later, Einstien came out with similar statement whice made him the greatest scientist of the world but Mahavir remained in oblivion. 81 The Authors further Argue that like modern scientist Mahavir also believed that the atom is the ultimate particle of matter and beyond matter is pure consciousness or pure energy"I regard consciousness as fundamental and matter as derivative from consciousness. Everything that we see and talk about as existing postulates existence of Consciousness in the from of 'Awareness' is also fundamental to the universe."
