________________ ( xxiii ) samuccayavyakhya in which both the Abhidharma samuccaya and the Abhidharmasamuccayabhas ya were put together. Although there are many different traditions like the above, we have to notice that the Basya has great similarity with the Trimsikabhasya of Sthiramati. Sri Pradhan has already discussed the similarities between the passages of the Abhidharmasamuccaya and those of the Trimsikhabhas ya, concluding "I am tempted to suggest that the passages in the Trimsikabhas ya are taken from the Abhidharmasamuccaya. It is Sthiramati who has written the Bhasya on both, the Trimsika and the Abhidharmasamuccaya". 1 ... 6. From our finding that the Trimsikabhasya has many similarities with both the Abhidharmasamuccaya (As) and the Abhidharmasamuccayabhasya (Asb), we may say that the Abhidharmasamuccayabhasya is earlier than the Trimsikabhasya (Tb.). We shall give here some examples. - (1) As. (p.6) स्मृतिः कतमा। संस्मृते (संस्तुते) वस्तुनि चेतसः असंप्रमोषोऽविक्षेपकमिका / / / Asb.
