That in which the artha, i.e. meaning (or theme) is forceful is uddhata, if the artha is gentle or lalita, it is lalita type, and if it is both (i.e. if the artha/theme) is both forceful and gentle, it is of the lalitóddhata variety.
Śā. further observes, (pp. 380, para 23, ibid) - yad duşkarábhidheyam
citram ca❜ty udbhatam ca bhavati,
tad-bhāṇake'bhidheyam
yutam anutālair vitālaiś ca.
That is 'citra' where the meaning [or 'abhineya' (Śr. Pra) = matter to be presented] is difficult, it is called 'citra' (type). In the udbhața (= forceful) type, the abhidheya (= meaning, or matter) is associated with anutāla and vitāla. This variety which is included in bhāņa is termed 'nandi-malin' by name. This is said to be a separate variety by some who do not know clearly the tradition of Bharata.
That is called nandi-mālī, wherein something is addressed to, or is performed with reference to ākāśapuruṣa (i.e. a character not actually present on the stage but is imagined to be present). This variety is having presentation of such feelings which are presented through special effort.
All this follows Bhoja. In both Śā. and Bhoja, we see the use of the terms "bhāṇa" and also “bhāṇaka”.
Śā. once again repeats in anustubh verses the details which Bhoja has given earlier for Bhāņa.
He says -
uddhata-prāya-karaṇaḥ
kvacit-stri-varja-varṇanaḥ,
This (i.e. bhāņa) has mostly forceful karaṇas i.e. movements. At times it is bereft of the description of a woman. Then it is glued with praises of kings through gāthās.
gāthā"di-rāja-stutibhiḥ
nibaddho guṇa-kīrtanaiḥ.
and it is beautified by good songs, sahóktis and yuktódātta -
"su-gāyana-sahóktyaiva yuktódāttena bhuṣitaḥ."
