गार्हस्थ्यमप्राप्य पुरो गमस्तु
संसाधनीयो बिरल-प्रकृत्याः। विश्वप्रसिद्धः क्रमिकाश्रमाध्वा . प्रायोऽखिलास्तेन ततः प्रयान्ति ॥ २२ ॥
ગૃહસ્થાશ્રમમાં આવ્યા વગર આગળ જવું એ વિરલપ્રકૃતિસાધ્ય છે. જગત્મસિદ્ધ માર્ગ આશ્રમ-પદ્ધતિને કમિક માર્ગ છે. એટલે પ્રાયઃ બધા એ જ માર્ગે ચાલે છે.
It is possible only for such as are blessed with extraordinary powers to advance further without passing through the stage of a householder. That the four orders are to be followed in the ascending order is a well established tradition, and this leads people to follow the orders often in the same way. ૨૨
