(૨) શક્તિ સંગમ—તંત્રમાં લખ્યુ છે કે
गण्डकीतीरमारभ्य चम्पारण्यान्तकं शिवे । विदेहभृः समाख्याता तीरभुक्त्याभिधो मनुः ॥
ગંડકી નદીથી લઈને ચમ્પારણ્ય સુધીના પ્રદેશ વિદેહ અથવા તીરભુક્તિ [તિરહુત] નામથી પ્રસિદ્ધ છે.

બ્રાહ્મણ અન્યામાં વિદેહાને ઉચ્ચ સંસ્કૃતિ અને સભ્યતામાં શ્રેષ્ઠ માનવામાં આવ્યા છે. વિદેહ નામ સહિતા કરતાં પણ પહેલાનુ જણાય છે. કારણ કે યર્જુવેદ સંહિતામાં વિદેહની ગાયાના ઉલ્લેખ કરેલા છે, જે કે પ્રાચીન ભારતવર્ષમાં વિશેષરૂપે
પ્રસિદ્ધ હતી.
