અર્થાત–રાજગૃહથી લઈને ગંગા સુધીને આખો રસ્તો બિમ્બિસારે વજા પતાકાઓથી શણગારી રાખ્યું હતું. અને તેજ પ્રમાણે લિછવિઓએ ગંગાથી વૈશાલી સુધીને માર્ગ શણગાર્યો હતે.

લિછવિ અને વજજી (સં. વૃજિ) પર્યાયવાચી છે; (દેખે ટ્રા. ઈ. એ. ઈન્ડિયા, પૃષ્ઠ ૩૧૧)
મનુએ લિવિઓને વાત્ય લખ્યા છે. (મનુસ્મૃતિ અધ્યાય ૧૦, શ્લેક ૧૦ ) અર્થાત લિચ્છવ મનુના મતે હીન ક્ષત્રિય હતા. પરંતુ લિછવિ હીન ક્ષત્રિય ન હતા આ લેકે બ્રાહ્મણ ધર્મના અનુયાયી ન હેવાથી તથા અર્વત અને ચિત્ય (જિનાલય) ની પૂજા કરતા હતા તેથી મનુએ આ લેકેને વાત્ય તરીકે લખ્યા લાગે છે. આનું વર્ણન અથર્વવેદમાં પણ મળે છે.
