उसका अस्तित्व दक्षिणभारत में न माना जावे।' आन्ध्रदेशमें जैन धर्म प्राड् मौर्यकाल से प्रचलित हुआ प्रगट किया ही जाता है। किन्तु हमारे विचारसे जैनधर्मका प्रवेश इस काळसे भी बहुत पहले दक्षिण भारतमै होचुका था ।
उपरोक्त साक्षीके अतिरिक्त प्राचीन जैन और
तामिल साहित्य
तथा पुरातत्व इस विषय में हमारा समर्थन करते हैं । पहले ही जैन साहित्यको लीजिये ! उसमें बगबर श्री ऋषभदेव के समय से दक्षिणभारतका उल्लेख मिलता है, जैसे कि पौराणिक कालके वर्णन में लिखा जाचुका है। और आगे के पृष्टोंमें और भी लिखा जायगा । सचमुच जैनोंको लक्ष्य करके जैन ग्रंथोंमें दक्षिणभारत के पल्लवदेश, दक्षिणम
