nullify the past bad-deed result. (iii) By mental termoil and the suffering may accompany animosity towards the visible agent causing the discomfort, Thus new bad-deeds will result for ‘Aaattmaa' to face further future discomfort. This sort of action can be avoided by an approach that discomfort causing agent is a friend helping sufferer to desrease 'Paap’-burden.
'Punnya' results in camfort, and if “Aaattmaa' enjoys the comfort with pride, (the negative virtue), causing potential future discomfort instead of contemplating that because of the good-deed commited, the result is an opportunity to be utilised for advancing in the march towards soul's journey towards salvation.
Here, no other “Aaattmaa’ can give credit or debit of deeds, as a gift or borrowing. Aim of “Samkiti? ‘Aaattmaa’ is to progressively decrease the burden of good and bad-deeds.
(c) The system governing the conduct of souljourney of each 'Aaattmaa'.
Once 'Samkiti’ ‘Aaattmaa' has the will to attain the salvation, the 'Aaattmaa' is cansidered to be on the fourth rung of the ladder having fourteen rungs. Each rung is known in Jain terminology as 'Gunnesthaannaa'. The 'Aaattmaa', tries to achieve lessening burden by stopping as many as possible, new additions to 'Karma' burden as also, “Nirjaraa' i.e., ways to decrease the ‘Karma' burden. Because of the progressive journey', 'Aaattmaa' attains the 'Sidddha-padda' and ends the birth-death cycle. (d) Universal make-up :
