Impressed by Svayambuddha's words, the king abdicated in favour of his son, practised Samlekhana ( voluntary submission to death ) and was born as god Lalitānga (5). iii. Lalitānga visited many charming piaces and enjoyed pleasures in the coinpany of his beloveds under most exhilerating environments ( 1, *1-8). The divine couple, Lalitānga and Svayamprabhā, enjoyed pleasures to their hearts' content; and they were reborn in the Pūrvavideha territory (2). iv. Lalitānga was born as king Vajrajangha in Puşkalavati in the town of Kumudakheta and Svayamprabha as princess Śrīmatī there in the town of Pundarīkiņi ( 1 ). While sleeping on the terrace during one moonlit night, Srimati fell in swoon hearing the divine drum which reminded her of Lalitanga (in the earlier life ). After regaining consciousness, she lavishly described the personality of Lalitānga who was physically attractive, charmingly decked and captivatingly fine (2, *1-8). In her separation, even pleasant environments became painful (3). She urged her companion Panditā to enable her to meet him whose portrait she would give to her ( 4 ). v. Pandită assured Srimati that she would soon find out her beloved like the sharp intelligence of a gifted poet spotting śleșa. With her heart set on the mission of her friend, she reached, with that portrait, the prosperous town of Utpalakheta (= Kumudakheta) and entered the temple of Jina there. Prince Vajrajargha noticed that portrait, was reminded of the earlier birth and wondered over the significance of it (1-3): who is it that has For Private And Personal Use Only
