________________ Shri Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra www.kobatirth.org Acharya Shri Kailassagarsuri Gyanmandir INTRODUCTION 37 cally like Jayadeva's songs as is so eminently done by P. G.Gopalkrishna Aiyar in his paper 'The Gita-GovindaA Prosodic Study published in the Journal of Oriental Research, pp.350-365, Madras 1928. In this study one can equally appreciate the literary and stylistic graces and embellishments used by Panditācārya. 9. Panditácārya's Style etc. Panditācārya has a good command over Sanskrit vocabulary, Jaina paribhasa and metrical variety. His opening Margala is quite dignified and is much popular in the retualistic recitations in Jaina temples, in Karnataka. It runs thus, and has a compact expression : His story continues irrespective of the conclusion of a Prabandha. Further, the author has before him the excellent models of Jinasena and Jayadeva from whom he easily inherits ideas and expressions. Pandită is a skilful companion. She assures Śrīmatí with nice similes that she would do her best to see that she meets Vajrajangha (v. 1): For Private And Personal Use Only
