and offered solemn prayers to him (1.4). The Samavasarana had its attractions, designs, decorations and apartments : there was a golden pedestal and the pavement was of crystal ( 1-8,4.6).
xxiii. That Samavasarana possessed Manastambhas, banners and wish-giving trees. It had twelve sectors. In it there were lakes, bowers and rivulets; divine. songs were being recited there (1-2). It was decorated in various ways, and was a charming place in every respect (*1.8). Its golden ground was being showered upon with flowers by the gods. Its glory surp.ssed even that of Mahameru (3-5).
xxiv. The spot of Gandhakuti was scented all sweet with the natural fragrance of Vrsabha's body and of flowers showered and of incense burnt there. The lord shone bright, in the centre of the Samavasaraṇa, on a jewelled lotus-seat without his feet touching its petals (1-3). The Gandhakuti occupied by him was lovely : it possessed various attractions and other Prätihāryas. All the dignitaries who were gathered to gether there were offering prayers to him ( *1.8, 4-8 ).
XXV. The Samavasarana presided over by Vṛṣabha was a place for the pacification of the Karmas of Bhavyas. Devendra offered prayers to him specifying his specialities and super natural influences. Vṛṣabha attained Liberation on the mount Kailasa and became Siddha endowed with all his great religious characteristics ( 1-12 ).
