(૪૧) જેમ બીજે માણસ આપણને દુઃખ આપે એ આપણે ઈચ્છતા નથી, તેમ આપણે પણ બીજાને દુઃખ નહિ આપવું જોઈએ.
[ આપણે બીજાને દુઃખમાં નાખીએ એમાં જે કંઈ ખોટું ન હોય તો બીજો આપણને દુઃખમાં નાખે એ પણ ખોટું ન ગણવું જોઈએ. જેવું આપીએ એવું મળે. મીઠાશ આપીએ તે મીઠાશ મળે અને કડવાશ આપીએ તે કવાશ. સુખ આયેથી સુખ મળે અને દુઃખ આથી દુઃખ એ અટલ સિદ્ધાન્ત છે.] हिंमा भवति दुबुंध्याऽन्यस्य दुःखीकृतावपि ।
