महावीर
[૩૨] (૨) આરાધ્ય તત્વ એક માત્ર આત્મતત્વ છે એ સમગ્ર આર્યદર્શનપ્રસિદ્ધ સૂત્રને પ્યાલમાં લઈ (આત્મા-અન્તરાત્માની) કલ્યાણદિશામાં, વિકાસસાધનામાં પોતાને સમગ્ર જીવનવ્યાપાર વહેતે રાખે. ]
अज्ञानपापाचरणैर्वघ्नन्तः कर्मसन्ततिम् । भ्रमन्ति मवचक्रे ते सहन्तः क्लेशसन्ततिम् ॥ ७९ ॥ 79 Phenomenal (embodied ) souls accumulate the bonds of Karma through ignorance and unrighteous actions, and wander in the cycle of transmigration-birth and death [ Samsāra ), suffering various kinds of misery.
(૭૯) અજ્ઞાન અને પાપાચરણાથી કર્મોને બાંધતા જીવે નાનાવિધ કોને ભેગવતા ભવચકમાં ભ્રમણ કરે છે.
आत्मा स्वरूपतः पूर्णसच्चिदानन्दचेतनः। मोहयोगात् त्वसदद्वत्तो भवन भ्रमति संसृतौ ॥ ८॥
80 The nature of the Soul is Chetanā (consciousness ) which is intrinsically the embodiment of supreme knowledge and delight, but owing to its being enshrouded by Moha [ignorance and infatuation or illusory attachment] it is led astray and consequently remains wandering in the cycle of births and deaths.
