________________ 311 69/1, Haft-hief, 2016 Scientific approach to Human Body and Its Nature as described in Bhagwati Aradhana - Dr. Pulak Goyal Jain scriptures are amongst world's oldest and authentic storehouses of knowledge. These not only reveal the path of salvation for living beings but also provide realities of life in which they are indulged. The motive of describing the worldly things is to clarify the state of sufferings which they suppose to be the happiness of life. While in this process, mankind has received enormous knowledge about other non-living materialistic things too. Human Body is one of them. Jain books say that every living being gets a body from its birth and departs from it at the time of death; and after that again gets a birth with a new body. This process continues till he completely destroys all the karmas attached to him and becomes a liberated soul. The soul has no shape or size, but as it enters the body at the time of birth, it expands or contracts itself according to the size and shape of body. As water gets mixed with milk, so is the case with body and soul.' Modern scientific researchers have toiled a lot to get thorough knowledge about body, but they are still awaiting to observe the soul with their equipments. When one compares the structure of human body as described in the scriptures with the science of nowadays, he certainly comes to the fact that science has proven many facts depicted in the Jain Canons and yet they have to travel a lot to reach the ends of it. Jain literature contains a lot more valuable facts about this materialistic world. Just it needs to be valued and visualized in the light of modern aspects. This short article deals with 'Human Body and Its Nature'as described in Bhagawati Aradhana.
