This power can be utilized both for giving a curse and granting a boon. There are two kinds of tejo-labdhi (i.e.) (a) hot, (b) cold. In Bhagavat S tra, we come across an incident where Lord Mahavira, due to compassion used this labdhi to protect Gau alaka. Muni Vai yayana, teased by Gau alaka become angry and projected hot tejo-labddhi on him. In order to save him, Lord Mahavira, used cold tejo-labdhito vercome the effect of hot tefo-labddhi. At last, when Gau alaka was saved he asked Lord Mahavira, how one could attian this labdhi, Lord Mahavira replied "The person who undertakes penance, for continuous two-two days fasting upto six months and while breaking the fast he has to take just one fist pulses (m ga) and a sip of water. Even during his penance he has to abseve atapana (i.e. to stand behind the sun during the day) with hands folded up in the sky.9

In this way, we saw numbers of labdhis in Jainism. They are such powers, where one cannot give rational explanation how and why it occurs happens. Even one cannot deny these pow
