Adverbs , teta ( 38/13 : tāvat); jeta (38/13 : yāvat); sabahati ( 37/29 : sarvatra); taba ( 33/16 : tadā); jaba ( 33/10 : yadā),s teña (H : 38/17 : tada, tatrā); jewa,( : 38/17 : yadā, yatha); jež as in manusē jeñ = mānuşavat (50/29); taisē (33/12 : tathā); kaisē ( 32/1, 2, 23/17 : katham); jaisē ( 33/12 : yathā). ethū (10/13 : atra), jethu (in jethu-kihã, 14/23, 30 : yatra). ihã, ihã (14/28 : iha), common : thâ-hūta (14/30 = itah); taha (21/6 : tatra); jāhã (14/23, 15/2 : yatra); kahă (common : kutra) kähő-hűta (23/15 : kosmāt, of place). taihā ( 33/16 : tasmin); jaihā (33/16 : yasmin); tež, tei (33/14 : tena+hi); jež, jei (33/14 : yena+hi); kāhë (common : kena); kău (36/16 : kadūcana). The Skt. tarhi is found once (21/21), also para as an adverb = then' (16/24, 16/25, 35/3). § 69. Origin of the Pronominal Adjectives and Adverbs. This does not present any difficulty. For discussion of the derivations, see relevant sections in the works of Beames, Bhandarkar, Hoernle, Grierson, Bloch, Chatterji, Saksena, Katre and Kakati. $ 70. (8) The Verb. VERB BASES. A good number of OIA. roots were received by way of inheri. tance by NÍA., and these are found in the Old Kosali of the Ukti-vyakti. In MIA., the vikaraņas which formed the basis of the classification of Skt. roots by grammarians into the 10 ganas were as far as possible brought under the -- class with accented root (bhū class-bháv-r- ), and this - base became practically the only verb base current in the language.
