Here it is not clear whether the Šaiva or Pāśupata monks respect the Āvasyakas of the Jainas or of their own, or some Jaina monks like pasatthas respect Avaśyakas! For instance, see Āv. Nir. 476 (including a Pkt text as an explanation of it), that Gosāla was beaten by a woman because of his sexy behaviour. Āv. Nir. 480 : Gosāla with sexy behaviour, desired to frighten some persons. Gosāla is described with sexy (kāndarpiki) bhāvanā and behaving as a Pāśupata monk does (Āv. Nir. p.205).
