સંશોધન હેઠળના પાંચ ગુજરાતી શિલાલેખોમાં સોકોત્રા ટાપુનું ગુજરાતી નામ “સિકોતર દર્શાવવામાં આવ્યું છે. ગુજરાત અને સૌરાષ્ટ્રમાં શિકોતરી માતા એક સ્થાનિક દેવી તરીકે પૂજાય છે.
આમ સોકોત્રા ટાપુના એક કાંઠાના ગામમાંથી પ્રાપ્ત પાંચ ગુજરાતી શિલાલેખો ગુજરાતના આર્થિક ઇતિહાસની દષ્ટિએ મહત્ત્વની અને ઉપયોગી માહિતી પૂરી પાડે છે.
