भगवती सूत्र शः ५ उ: ४
तेणें कालेणं तेणं सम एणं समणस्स भगवओ महावीरस्स जेट्ठे अंतेवासी इंदभूई णामं अणगारे जाव.. अदूरसामंते उंजाणू जाव... विहरइ । तणं तस्स भगवओ गोयमस्स झाणंतरियाए वट माणस्स इमेवाखवे अज्झत्थि ए जाव... समुप्पज्जित्था :

एवं खलु दो देवा महिड्डिया जाव... महाणुभागा समणस्स भगवओ महावीरस्स अंतियं पाउन्भूया तं णो खलु अहं ते देवे जाणामि कयराओ कप्पाओ वा सग्गाओ वा विमाणाओ वा कस्स वा अत्यस्स अटठाए. इहं हव्वं आगया । तं गच्छामि णं भगवं महावीरं वंदामि णमंसामि जाव... पज्जुवासामि । इमाई च णं णयारूवाइं वागरणाई पुक्छिस्सामि ।
त्ति कट्टु एवं संपेहेइ । संहिता उठाए उठे जाव .. जेणेव समगे भगवं महावीरे जाव... पज्जुवासइ ।
गोयमाई ! समणे भगवं महावीरे भगवं गोयमं एवं वयासी:
- से णूणं तव गोयमा ! झाणंतरियाए वट्टमाणस्स इमेयारूवे थिए जाव... जेणेव ममं अंतिए तेणेव हव्त्रं आगए । से णणं गोयमा ! समट्ठे ?
अभ अट्ठे

- हंता अस्थि ।
- तं गच्छाहि णं गोयमा ! एए चैव देवा इमाई एयारूवाइं वागरनाइं वागहिति ।
In that period, at that time, Śramaṇa Bhagavan Mahāvīra had a senior disciple Indrabhuti by name who, remaining neither very near nor very far, waited upon the Lord from his seat where he sat in the utkafuka posture. Two gods with great fortune,...till great influence came to Śramana Bhagavan Mahavira. I do not know these gods, nor do I know from what kalpa, heaven or vimana they had come, nor the purpose of their coming. So I should approach
